The Chase star Anne Hegerty shocked her co-stars after doing something she’s “never done before” since first appearing on the show back in 2010.
During the celebrity edition of the ITV programme, comedian Susan Calman, broadcaster Dermot Murnaghan, athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton and and actor Omid Djalili joined host Bradley Walsh in a bid to win a cash prize for their chosen charities.
After the first three celebs made it back to the final chase, it was Omid’s turn to stand in front of The Governess.

The 57-year-old raised £3,000 in the cash-builder and was given the option to stick with it, or go lower with £1,000 or higher with a whopping £128,000.

After some advice from his team, the comedian decided to take a risk and go for the high offer.
In the nail-biting round, Omid narrowly missed out on the chance to win the money for his chosen charity after being caught by the chaser on what could have been his final question.
Despite failing to win, Omid’s impressive performance was recognised by the professional quizzer and she gave him a rare standing ovation as a result.

“I thought you were absolutely awesome, I have never done this before but,” Anne said as she stood up from her seat and began clapping.
Susan, Dermot and Perri entered the final chase with £12,000 and managed to answer 20 questions right.
Unfortunately for the trio, their efforts weren’t enough as Anne caught them with seconds remaining.
Minutes into the episode, fans headed to social media to share their disappointment when they realised the show was actually a repeat as it first aired in 2020.

One fumed: “Do ITV actually not care about the Sunday schedule? The #Lingo episode was only on weeks ago and now a repeat of #TheChase with your back catalogue of shows why repeat this rubbish.”
“There’s more than enough of the chase episodes not to have the same ones shown on a bloody loop #thechase,” added a second.
Another person asked: “How old is this episode of #TheChase on primetime ITV?”
