This Morning fans say Hairy Bikers’ Dave is ‘looking well’ following cancer battle

This Morning viewers couldn’t help but share their excitement after Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers appeared on the show.

On Wednesday’s programme (April 16), the TV chef appeared alongside his cooking partner Si King as they told presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield what they were planning to cook.

But due to Dave’s previous cancer diagnosis and the fact that he underwent chemotherapy last year, fans were happy to see that he was “looking well”.

Fans were happy to see Dave Myers back on screen doing what he loves

Meanwhile a third mentioned: “Nice to see both hairy bikers back on tv again.”

Dave, 65, previously told fans that chemotherapy affected his ability to walk.

Talking candidly on the How To Be 60 podcast he told presenter Kaye Adams that he had to re-learn how to walk after undergoing multiple rounds of chemo.

He explained: “My God, the chemotherapy doesn’t half-age you quickly because your balance goes, so for someone with a motorbike that’s a disaster, and my walking has been affected quite a lot, really.”

Fans shared their joy to see the Hairy Bikers together online

Although he said he does not have any “symptoms of cancer”, the chemotherapy affected “neuropathy” in his feet, making it also difficult for him to stand.

The star added: “It’s a funny thing, chemotherapy, it’s one of life’s great levellers. It doesn’t matter if you’re on the telly or on the dole, if you get that then you’re in the s***.”

Dave also confessed that the chemo affected his overall mood and understandably, he felt down.

Dave previously shared that chemotherapy was ‘brutal’

He explained: “It’s a type of chemical depression and that’s really hard because everyone is telling you to be positive, but when the chemistry in your body is not telling you that story, that’s harsh.”

Despite the treatment and his diagnosis, Dave promised that he will go back to filming The Hairy Bikers this spring.

The Strictly Come Dancing star first shared his diagnosis on an episode of his podcast with The Hairy Bikers: Agony Uncles… A Right Pair of Aunts.

Talking openly Dave explained to listeners that he didn’t want to “hide under a rock”.
