Alison Hammond was more than a little embarrassed over the weekend after an awkward encounter on This Morning.
The popular TV host was confronted by Tony Hudgell – who is a double amputee – where he asked why she was not in attendance at his impressive charity walk.
He appeared on the flagship ITV daytime programme after he raised more than £19,000 as he completed a sponsored walk to the summit of Orrest Head in the Lake District.

The eight-year-old appeared on the iconic blue sofa only a month earlier to talk about his tough challenge, where he said that he hoped Alison would be there to cheer him on.
Appearing on Friday’s edition (11 August) of the magazine programme he declared: “When I needed you, you weren’t there!”
She replied: “I was recording an episode of Bake Off and I couldn’t make it, but next time I will be there.”
It’s clear the former Big Brother star felt remorse over the incident as she explained: “But I am sorry I couldn’t be there.
“I am disappointed in myself I couldn’t be there and everyone is disappointed I couldn’t be there. I’m sure everyone is disappointed I wasn’t there but you did it. You did it on everyone’s behalf and I’m so proud of you.”
However it’s clear that the Great British Bake Off host wanted to do her best to make it up to him as she committed to a £500 donation to his fundraising campaign.
This was Tony’s first fundraiser since 2020, when he participated in another sponsored walk in aid of London’s Evelina Hospital.
Doctors at the location saved his life after he suffered appalling mistreatment by his biological parents.
The pair hurt him so badly as a baby he was forced to have both legs amputated after he suffered eight fractures to his legs in 2014 which later developed into life-threatening septicaemia.
This was on top of blunt trauma to his face which lead to organ failure, whilst they didn’t seek out any medical treatment for his injuries for 10 days.
