Amanda Holden became emotional as she gave a heart-wrenching statement for her late stillborn child.
Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda, 52, admitted that she had sadly delivered a stillborn child when she was pregnant in 2011. Naming her son Theo, Holden was devastated as it came just one year prior to her previous miscarriage.
But on Thursday (February 1), Amanda honoured her son Theo’s life as she paid an emotional tribute to her child. Posting a snap to her Instagram, she was seen lighting a candle in a dark room, with the small flame bringing some beautiful, warm light into the otherwise pitch black space.

Captioning the post, she wrote that it would have been a landmark birthday for Theo, had he been alive. She wrote: “You would have been thirteen today…” followed by a hashtag for Theo and a love heart emoji.
This not the first time that Amanda has offered a heart-breaking tribute to the memory of her son. In 2022, Amanda remembered her late child in a tear-jerking moment that sent fans into a frenzy of sadness.
Two years ago, Amanda shared an incredibly intimate snap of Theo’s footprints, which they had taken after discovering he was stillborn. Writing a similar caption in the post, Holden was clearly still hurt by Theo’s cruel early departure from the world.
“You would have been 11 today,” she wrote at the time. “I’m still grateful you chose us for your journey…#Theo.”
Amanda has bravely opened up previously about what it was like for her to cuddle her stillborn child as he sadly passed away soon after being born. Speaking in an interview, Holden teared up as she laid herself bare: “He looked so normal and peaceful.
“I held him in my arms and I said goodbye, basically,” she continued. “But I couldn’t have done it without the incredible team around us; my husband was so strong and so amazing but they got him through it too.”
Since then, Amanda has said that Theo will always be a part of the family, and gave huge thanks to the NHS for helping her and her loved ones through the pain. However, she has said that she is “frightened” about trying to have another child for fear of the unthinkable happening for a second time.
Speaking to The Sun, she admitted: “My husband was frightened of having another child, he never wanted to see me go through that pain again — and himself. But I knew in order to carry on and live life, I had to have a baby and I was lucky enough to have the choice and be able to have another one.”
