Amanda Holden refuses to swear around BGT co-star because they’re ‘too polite’

Amanda Holden admitted she no longer swears around her Britain’s Got Talent co-star because they’re “too polite”.

The beloved TV presenter, 52, has been a judge on the ITV talent competition alongside head judge Simon Cowell since 2007. Since then, she has become a staple judge on the star-studded panel, nurturing some of the biggest talent across the country and catapulting them to fame.

One of the most successful winners to come from the beloved competition is the hugely popular dance group Diversity who stole the crown back in 2009. Over the past few months, Amanda, Simon Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli have been making their eye-watering trek across the country to find the next big star for the 17th series, set to return this spring.

Now, the mum-of-two has admitted that she actively tries not to let her potty mouth slip around the music producer because he’s “so polite.” The revelation comes ahead of Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnely’s ultimate prank on the music producer.

Their celebrity mischief will be aired this weekend for their upcoming episode of Saturday Night Takeaway. During Friday’s (February 23) instalment of her breakfast show on Heart FM, the blonde bombshell guessed Simon’s reaction to their cheeky prank.

Speaking to her co-host Jamie Theakston and the Geordie duo, the dad-of-two asked her to tease his response on the show. It was at this point that the broadcaster confessed that she acts differently around Simon.

She confessed: “He’s super polite, if I ever swear around Simon I’m really aware of it, whereas I don’t care about anyone else!” as Ant pointed out: “You’re always swearing around us!”

Jamie opened with: “Everyone’s favourite part of the show is of course when you prank other people. So you’re doing Simon tomorrow… again.

“But the reason being is because he was the very first, in the very first show… do you remember what you did to Simon?”

She recalled: “On the very first one we auditioned for ‘American Idol’ as two contestants and we sang one of Paula Abdul’s songs which really annoyed him… the only way we can end it is by doing him again on ‘America’s Got Talent’….”

Declan explained: “The trailer that’s already dropped on social [media] is us pulling them over on his morning bike ride in Malibu. And we stalked him out for three days in Malibu and found out he goes on a morning bike rise.

“So we’ve got these California [police] officers on patrol to pull him over on his bike and tell him it was the wrong colour, he was speeding, he wasn’t wearing a Hi-Vis vest, he needed to get his bike sprayed in Malibu colours…”

Jamie interjected: “Now, Amanda, you obviously know him better than most. What do you think his reaction is because the boys obviously can’t give anything away.”

Amanda guessed: “He’s very polite, very charming so I would imagine he dealt with it quite well but was questioning because he’s also a rule breaker. He’d be like, ‘I’m really sorry, but handcuff me then’.”

Ant went on to reveal that although the head judge is very kind and welcoming, his major flaw is that he is late to everything. The TV host explained: “You know the biggest problem?

“It was working out when he would actually take this bike ride because he’s notoriously late for everything. We were sat in this RV in the middle of the Malibu sun sweating with no aircon on.

“A crew of seven people all of us going, ‘Shh, be quiet, he might drive past in the next two hours’.” Amanda couldn’t help but chuckle at their complaints as she shared her pet peeve with the music producer while filming the ITV talent show.

She giggled: “Well, that’s what it’s like when we film Britain’s Got Talent, we’re all waiting for two hours while we wait for him to turn up.”
