BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty follows one strict rule at home with her rarely-seen husband, James Haggar.
The TV star claims she never eats beyond 6pm in the house the couple share with their two cats. “I never eat after six at night,” she explained. “I’m disciplined about snacking but I’ll have one or two squares of dark chocolate and a glass of wine in front of the television with my husband.”
Naga has to get up at 3:45am from Thursday to Saturday when she’s presenting her show on the Beeb with her co-host Charlie Stayt. But it seems she’s not as careful about when it comes to going to sleep.

She told The Times: “I go to bed about 10.30 and listen to Today in Parliament, a rugby podcast or dig into a Times long read. I drift off at midnight and sleep like the dead.”
James, meanwhile, prefers to stay out of the spotlight in his work as a television director and broadcast consultant, reports the Mirror. Having spent a decade as a senior director at CNBC International, he later moved on to Sky.
He later spent several years – again as a senior director – at Five News/OK TV before landing a role with ITV. Previously Naga has opened up about their decision not to have children.
Naga, who has a condition called adenomyosis, shared: “We never tried and I never miscarried, we just never really wanted them. We kept putting the decision off, then life got better for us, we became more selfish… and just didn’t find the time.”
She also shared the story of how she was once branded “wicked” for what she decided to do with her own body, saying: “I remember when I told someone that I had decided I didn’t want children, someone told me I was wicked. Wicked against my mother for denying her grandchildren. It’s quite interesting, isn’t it, how people react.”
The couple are clearly singing from the same hymn sheet when it comes to decision making, however, with Naga adding on the Her Spirit Podcast: “James and I don’t row, and he’s a lovely, lovely man, he’s definitely the better half.”
Naga continued: “When James and I got married almost 12 years ago, one of his aunts said to us: the best bit of advice I can give you is to simply be kind to one another. She was right.”
