An on-air faux pas left a BBC Breakfast presenter red-faced after they wished they could take back their words.
BBC Breakfast was back in action on Saturday (November 9), with fans of the morning programme tuning in for their weekend dose of news. Regular anchors Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty were seated on the iconic red sofa, ready to dive into the day’s pressing topics.
In a poignant segment, they chatted with Michelle Wright, boss at Zoe’s Place in Liverpool, hearing about the remarkable support provided to children at the hospice. The facility is aimed at aiding tots under five with severe illnesses.
It had been on the brink of closure but was saved by generous donations from folk and firms. Zooming onto the couch alongside Michelle was Amanda with her daughter Esme, who’ve both benefited from the charity’s care.

However, an odd gaffe occurred when Charlie jested about his own programme. Amanda explained Esme’s unusually quiet demeanour, saying: “She’s normally very happy and smiley.
“But I don’t think she’s feeling herself this morning so she’s very chill.”, reports the Express. To which Charlie wittily responded: “She won’t be the first person who has slept through an entire chunk of BBC Breakfast.”

The quip earned a few chuckles and Naga quickly piped up with: “Nor the last.” But Charlie soon realised his blunder and corrected himself regretfully: “Am I allowed to say that? Oh no, I shouldn’t say that.”
This follows an incident earlier this week when Naga experienced a wardrobe malfunction. On Thursday (November 7), viewers couldn’t help but notice her dress seemed slightly open.
Talking to campaigner Angela Frazer Wicks on her painful adoption experience, Naga and Charlie turned to their right to speak their guest. However, Naga’s navy buttoned dress which was previously fine for TV had an opening in the top half section.
Seeing the mishap on their screens, fans headed over to X to point it out, with one writing: “Naga, sort your wardrobe malfunction out. It’s distracting.”
