She’s since been used to waking up at the crack of dawn to present the news across Yorkshire. One of her recent posts on X read: “Good morning! Had the 4am alarm set this morning for the breakfast news across Yorkshire. We will have your lunchtime bulletin on BBC One at 1.30pm – see you then pic.twitter.com/yfxpKyCGGS

It comes just a day after it was reported BBC’s Mishal Husain had stepped down from her Radio 4 Today show, following the news Zoe Ball is leaving her Radio 2 Breakfast show. Husain has fronted BBC Radio 4’s Today show since 2013 but is now believed to be in talks for a new role within the corporation.

An insider told The Times: “After 11 years Mishal has reached the point where the 3.30am alarm call is no longer a welcome noise.” They added: “She is very highly thought of and there will be an extremely big effort to make sure she’s accommodated well elsewhere.”
