Another BBC presenter has left the broadcaster.
BBC Radio Shetland presenter Adam Guest has celebrated his final day on the station alongside his colleagues. He first joined the station in 2019.
The station’s official Facebook page confirmed his exit after five years in a heartfelt post alongside sweet photos from his last gig. The host was all smiles in the snap, which saw him posing in the studio surrounded by his pals.

His colleagues also brought Adam a cake, which featured a fondant figure of him playing the guitar. The delicious looking cake read: “All the best Adam.”
The station thanked Adam for all of his hard work in the caption. It read: “From everyone here, thanks so much for your work over the years, it’s been a pleasure! All the best for the future, and farewell for now.”
Adam’s exit follows other radio stars leaving the organisation in the last few months. In December, BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ Ace stepped down from his RandB Saturday show after first joining the station in 2002.
Gemma Oaten quit her presenting job just months after accepting her role at BBC Radio Humberside just months after accepting the role. And the legendary Garry Richardson also left BBC Radio 4’s Today programme after 43 years.
BBC News presenter Emmanuelle Lhoni also announced her exit. She said her role at the organisation had been a “childhood dream come true”.
Although Adam’s new career move has yet to be revealed, listeners took to the comments with supportive messages. In the comments section of the Facebook post, one penned: “Sorry to see you go Adam, best wishes whatever you do.”
Another wrote: “All the best fella! I’ll miss the Yorkshire lilt.” A third commented: “You’ve been a great asset to Radio Shetland Adam! We will miss your dulcet tones…. Good luck in the new job.”
Another added: “You’ve made a brolly fine contribution.”
