Below Deck star Captain Lee says show ‘isn’t the same’ after he was ‘fired’ from cast

Below Deck star Captian Lee claims the show isn’t the same after he was “fired”.

The Bravo legend was given the boot after series 10 as he wasn’t asked back by the producers. When asked what he thinks of the series after his departure, he said it “wasn’t the same”.

He answered: “I haven’t caught up with any of it. It doesn’t seem the same on the one time or two that I’ve watched. I’m not holding a grudge I still work with Bravo and NBC Universal. Was I happy with their decision? No, but I don’t own NBC Universal.”

Talking further about his TV exit, Lee added: “I don’t know why I left… I just wasn’t invited back. They said I wasn’t invited back but I call it being fired. So I told them that I’d never been fired for doing a good job.

“Because I can remember it was the only second time I’ve ever been fired from anything. So now I don’t know, would I go back? I might go back for a season or two.”

The boating legend, 74, had been starring on the show since 2013 but has moved on to other projects. He has also now given a health update after fans were left concerned as he left during season 10 due to his bad back.

Reassuring his loyal fans, he said: “My back is just fine. I still have some discomfort. But that wasn’t stopping me from going back to work on the show.

“It’s nothing like that, I can still get up and walk. I’m not running any marathons any time soon, but damn I was never going to run any goddamn marathons anyhow.”

Lee will be going on a UK tour

The Below Deck favourite is currently preparing to tour around the UK this October. Talking about his tour, Lee said: “I’m really excited about that and I can’t wait to get stuck in with the tour. It’s just me and a microphone and two fingers of vodka and some ice and we’ll go through some crazy stories, questions and answers and we will play some games. We have a lot of audience participation, that’s what makes it fun.”
