Big Brother star Yinrun Huang has shared some backstage gossip from her time on another ITV show – The 1% Club.
Huang, 26, made a surprise appearance on the last episode of the ITV gameshow on Saturday (May 25). The show sees 100 people answer progressively harder questions, to see if they have the brains that can only be shared by 1% of the UK population.
Yinrun was able to make it to the 80% question before being knocked out. During the show, she was affectionately given the adopted nickname “Runrun” by presenter Lee Mack.

Reflecting on her experience, the Big Brother star took to her Instagram page to let fans in on her experience during filming. During the tell-all, it was revealed that her time in the studio taping her episode was the first time she was ever on television.
In a Q&A video she uploaded to her page, Yinrun explained: “It was filmed in February 2023 so that was eight months before Big Brother started. That’s why I said that would be my first TV appearance!”
She also gave fans an insight into how the filming took place and how she ended up with the nickname “Runrun”. Yinrun said that due to a technical error on her tablet, her name was accidentally entered as “Runrun” and could not be changed before filming began, which led to some healthy banter between her and Lee Mack – so she admitted she did not mind the new nickname.
Looking back on her experience, Yinrun said she enjoyed her time on the show, saying that all the staff and contestants were incredibly friendly and supportive. However, she joked that the experience answering the questions was “definitely more intense”.
Yinrun then let a secret slip about the production of the show that many viewers did not know about. In her montage, she revealed that when Lee Mack makes jokes during the course of the questions being answered, this is actually filmed afterwards.
“I know this is a question that everyone is curious about – does Lee actually make does during the questions?” she said. “No!” she laughed. “Everyone stays silent so we can concentrate during the questions.”
The final episode of the current series aired on Saturday, drawing in millions of viewers once again to take on some tough brain teasers. However, it was announced that the show would be coming back for a third season, with applications for the next set of episodes being accepted at the end of the show.
