Charlotte Dawson has told fans she’s having a baby girl, but admitted that her fiance Matthew Sarsfield, who has been embroiled in a cheating scandal, is not involved.
The reality TV star shared the news on the Naughty Corner podcast, where she cut into a cake to reveal the baby’s gender. Overjoyed to discover she’s having a girl, Charlotte exclaimed: “Finally – I’m having a girl!”
Taking to social media to share the news with her fans, Charlotte wrote: “I’m so happy. It’s finally out. It’s been the hardest secret ever as I’m so bad at keeping secrets as you know. Charlotte, who is already a mum to two sons, Noah, three, and Jude, one, expressed her hopes that having a daughter might help Matthew change his ways and develop more respect for women.
In a recent interview with OK! Magazine, she said: “I just want the baby to be happy and healthy, but it would be amazing to have a little girl. I’m dying to dress her up and play Barbies. It would be amazing for Matthew, too, as it would help him understand respect for females,” reports the Mirror.
Charlotte expressed her hopes that having a daughter would positively impact her partner, saying: “He’d understand why you can’t treat women that way. I think being a girl dad would make him a better man, but we’ll see what happens. Either way, the baby will be loved completely.”
She candidly discussed the challenges of navigating pregnancy during a difficult period, admitting: “It’s been a crazy time. Having to deal with the heartache, the hurt, the disappointment and being pregnant on top of it all… it’s been absolutely horrible.”
Regarding her partner Matt, Charlotte revealed that he has returned to their family home but still has to make amends. She shared: “I made him go and say sorry to the life-size cardboard cutout I keep of my dad [late comedy entertainer Les Dawson]. And he has a lot of making up to do with my mum, too.”
Looking ahead to the future and her intuition about having a daughter, Charlotte previously stated: “This time, I do feel really sick and I do feel different to the boys so come on, let’s pray for pink!”
She also mentioned her mother’s collection of her childhood outfits, saying: “My mum has got all of my little outfits from when I was a little girl and I feel like it would just be really special and I think I need a mini-me! I need to dress a little mini-me.”
