ITV’s Coronation Street viewers have identified a potential suspect in the disappearance of Lauren Bolton – speculating it could be a “missing” character other than Roy Cropper.
The focus has been on Roy following Lauren’s abrupt unexplained exit from Weatherfield, due to her flat being left unlocked and his subsequent arrest. While no one saw Lauren leave, the speculation mounted when diligent Roy was found cleaning out Lauren’s flat.
However, it could’ve just been a well-meaning gesture that looked suspicious to some and led to his unwarranted arrest. Ever since poor Roy has endured a tirade of baseless accusations.

This has not just from the local community but online sleuths as well, who are all too happy to speculate about the supposed culpability of the cafe owner. However, attentive Coronation Street fans have taken to Twitter to share a riveting theory.
They’ve noted another character who seems to have mysteriously vanished, asserting that he or she may in fact be tied to Lauren’s sudden disappearance. One person tweeted: “Notice how Joel has disappeared and so has Lauren? #corrie”.
Another sleuthing viewer speculated: “Is there a possible link to Lauren’s disappearance with Joel? ” While yet another Corrie fan suggested: “My theory is Joel killed Lauren on @itvcorrie because he was secretly seeing her #Corrie #WhoKilledLauren.”
Meanwhile, another eagle-eyed fan shared their thoughts: “#corrie I’m starting to side with everyone who accused Joel of being Lauren’s secret boyfriend. 1. We haven’t seen him since she went missing. 2. The day Dee-Dee dumped him was the same day Lauren was covered in bruises.
“3. Solicitor so knows how to cover up a crime scene. 4. He’s a Solicitor so has a lot of money- one of the few things we do know about the secret bf.
“5. Dee-Dee is abstaining until marriage, which would explain his connection to Lauren. I also do not believe his story about that other lady being his wife. #corrie” and another chimed in: “I thought Joel was Laurens secret man but he seems to have disappeared #Corrie..”
