EastEnders viewers reckon they have ‘worked out’ what the Christmas storyline is going to be this year.
Over the in the soap recently, Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) was sexually assaulted by the vile Pastor Clayton (Howard Saddler). The Pastor locked her in a storeroom at a charity fundraiser which was organised by Yolande herself.
Prior to him assaulting her, Pastor Clayton had been making inappropriate advances towards Yolande for some time. And when he brought it up, he shut her down while gaslighting her in the process.

Yolande’s assault took place during an hour-long-episode of the soap. Throughout the second half special, it was revealed Pastor Clayton had a history of abusing women.
Following the assault, Yolande reflected on what had happened to her. But viewers were transported to different years and time periods – there, the different women told their stories.
Sadly though, the women he abused in the past were not believed when they confided in someone. Following the assault, Yolande has been left devastated – with the ordeal clearly having an effect on her mental health.
Now, fans are convinced this year’s Christmas storyline could be focused on Yolande and the rest of the women Pastor Clayton assaulted, similar to the 2023 storyline involving The Six.
Over an EastEnders Facebook fan page, one viewer shared their theory and penned: “Personally. I think the Christmas episode this year should be Yolande and all the victims of pastor Clayton getting their revenge on him.
“Like throughout the year, yolande finds out he’s done this before and goes online and finds some of the women’s stories and puts 2 and 2 together and meets up with them and it all comes crashing down at Christmas, who agrees?”
Other fans agreed and wrote: “That would be a great and fitting ending to this horrible creep.” A third said: “Yes, put him in a room with all his victims and he can get what he deserves.”
However, other viewers were not too keen on waiting until Christmas to see Pastor Clayton’s downfall. One wrote: “I don’t want it, it’s only April. Wouldn’t want the next 8 months of that then Christmas all about it too.” Someone else fumed: “ A whole year again?! Ffs nah!” A third commented: “If it’s dragging on that long I will not be watching.”
