Max Bowden is now teaching acting lessons after his surprise ‘axe’ from EastEnders.
The actor, 29, best known for playing Ben Mitchell on the long-running show – making his debut in 2019. During his stint, he’s had some big storylines – including the character’s horrific rape ordeal in 2022.
Max was the sixth actor to play Ben – and became a hit with viewers since his first appearance. So much so, that he’s even scooped a few gongs for his portrayal.

However, in December it was reported that Max would be bowing out of the programme. A source close to Max told Daily Star how the actor will leave the show indefinitely with his final scenes set to air in the coming weeks.
It was then claimed that Max’s private life hitting the headlines was a concern for execs of the show. An insider told The Sun: “There has been a lot of noise around him for a bit too long and that can take away from the drama on the show.”
Max’s exit scenes playing Ben are set to air in the coming weeks – and will no doubt leave fans heartbroken. But now, his ‘new job’ has been revealed.
The actor appears to have been given a lifeline by co-star and friend Jacqueline Jossa – who plays Lauren Branning. Jacqueline runs her own drama academy and has hired Ben to hold workshops that cost a reported £39.
On her acting school’s website, the slots are listed with the blurb reading: “Max Bowden is a talented actor who has been in many plays, films and TV shows.
“This workshop will give you an insight into the industry firsthand. Max will be covering script work, monologues and confidence building. There will be a chance to get advice and tips/ techniques with a Question and answer session at the end.” Further advice then said: “Please bring a drink of water along to this workshop.”
It comes after a video believed to be Max, which was taken by a fan, emerged online and he could be heard saying: “I’m so f*****g excited to get out” while he posed with bystanders outside Elstree Studios in Borehamwood.
Since the “foul-mouthed” video has came to light in The Sun, the soap star has said: “Anyone who listens to this audio will clearly hear this is not a foul-mouthed rant. I was talking about my excitement for the future and what’s to come.”
