EastEnders fans were convinced they’d spotted a brand new location in Walford, with many saying “it’s never been there before!”.
In Wednesday’s episode (March 20) of the popular BBC soap, Albert Square was buzzing with preparations for Jade Green’s fundraiser at the Queen Vic. However, in another scene, Honey Mitchell was seen crossing the Square when she heard someone coughing loudly.
Looking to her left, she spotted her son William down a passageway at the side of one row of houses. The teenager was struggling with a vape, coughing after each puff.

Shocked by what she saw, an angry Honey marched over to him in the alleyway and snatched the vape from him his hand She then asked: “Where did you get this?”

As he continued to cough, she asked: “Is this why you were feeling sick this morning? ” Will started to protest but Honey snapped: “You are 16, Will! I mean, who sold it to you anyway? Don’t even think about lying to me either!”
But some EastEnders fans were sidetracked and more focused on the unfamiliar setting. They took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their confusion.

One viewer wrote: “I wanna know where this passage has been??? It’s never been there before, surely??? ” Another fan responded: “I think when they rebuilt the set last year they added a lot of places, like back gardens of houses, alleys etc.”
Meanwhile, another viewer joked about where they could have seen the passage before. The viewer wrote: “It’s a time portal as used in Star Trek many times.”

EastEnders unveiled its new set in Spring 2022, having spent a whopping £87 million on renovations. The Sun previously revealed in March last year that EastEnders plans for a fresh backlot stage with loads of new filming spots.
It comes after fans were gobsmacked by Tuesday’s episode when Denise Fox was left distressed after realising that Stacey was still having an affair with her husband. The discovery sent shockwave amongst the family and led to a bitter feud and a physical altercation.
