EastEnders has aired a dark twist for Harry Mitchell (played by Elijah Holloway) as he was arrested for the suspected murder of his ex-girlfriend Shireen. But viewers of the BBC One soap think they know who the real killer is.
In recent episodes, copper Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) was shocked to learn Harry had been accused of killing his former partner after she vanished following a public row.
However, when Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) confronts her new lover Harry about the murder accusations, he instantly denies the claims and explains he had a turbulent relationship with Shireen.
Harry has since continued to blackmail Jack but on Monday (November 11) Penny convinced Jack to let her speak to Shireen’s pal Felicity. She was left chilled to hear about Harry’s past and he was later arrested as the Brannings watched on.

But when Harry got into the police car, there was a surprise when his mum Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) arrived in Albert Square.
On Tuesday, Nicola warned Penny after thinking she was responsible for her son’s arrest. She also dropped an offensive comment about Teddy’s fashion sense before giving Harry a false alibi for the night in question.
Despite the detective not buying Nicola’s story, the police were forced to let Harry go home. It later surfaced that Nicola and Harry had an agreed alibi should he ever be arrested.

The Mitchells soon come to blows as Nicola’s lies about being in Bali and ‘finding herself’ are unveiled as youngest son Barney (Lewis Bridgeman) looks on uncomfortable.
Shireen’s disappearance continues to be the topic of conversation among the Mitchells, but fans think they know who is responsible for her mysterious death – Harry’s younger brother Barney and their dad Teddy (Roland Manookian).
EastEnders fans have been speculating that bookworm Barney accidentally killed Shireen with Teddy covering for his schoolboy son.

On X, one person wrote: “You think Barney punched Shireen (Harry’s ex) and he ended up accidentally killing her? #EastEnders @bbceastenders.”
A second exclaimed: “My guess is Barney killed Shireen & they covered it up.”
Another third chimed in: “More certain than ever that Teddy made Shireen disappear. #EastEnders.”
“Teddy definitely is the one to have killed Harry’s girlfriend or at least got someone else to do it #eastenders,” speculated another.
