EastEnders hunk unrecognisable with shaggy beard and ripped body three years after exit

Davood Ghadami looks worlds away from his days as Kush Kazemi in topless beach snaps.

The 41-year-old EastEnders actor has taken to Instagram to share pictures with fans which show he’s clearly been working out since leaving the BBC one soap three years ago.

He posed on the beach for several photographs wearing a pair of black swim trunks as she showed off his ripped abs. Davood cryptically captioned his social media post with “Getting prepared”, hinting that he may have landed a new acting job.

Unsurprisingly, fans rushed to the comment section to show their appreciation for Davood’s new rugged look as they complimented his bushy beard and muscly arms. One fan gushed: “Better than a Daniel Craig moment. Swoon.” Another added: “Beard is looking [flame emoji].” A third person wrote: “Look at that gorgeous bod.”

Davood played Kush from 2014 until 2021 when the popular character was pushed killed off in a shocking cliffhanger episode during serial killer Gray Atkins’ (Toby-Alexander Smith) evil reign over Albert Square. Kush was pushed in front of an oncoming underground train by Gray, who was obsessed with Kush’s fiancee Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty). Kush was Gray’s third victim after he killed wife Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer), and then Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White) when she rumbled him

After leaving EastEnders, Davood joined the cast of BBC’s Holby City as Eli Ebrahimi. However, his role only lasted 18 months after it was announced the beloved medical show had been axed after 23 years. Davood previously admitted that he would miss playing his character Kush after making history as the first-ever character on the show to be killed this way.

He said at the time: “I’ll be sad to see him go but I’ve loved every minute of playing the character. I have really enjoyed being part of that final storyline, my time over the six and a half years has culminated in something that people will remember. It’s a nice thing to have a full stop to the end of Kush’s story. Although it’s the end of the line for Kush, he has given me lots of happy memories and I will miss him greatly.”
