Linda Carter’s life will be left hanging in the balance next week’s EastEnders – but will she survive her ordeal?
The Queen Vic landlady, played by Kellie Bright, is set to be tormented by poison pen letters as Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) remains in prison for Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) at Christmas.
She is left terrified after receiving blackmail letters as she and Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) try to determine who might have sent them. Linda’s letters arrive after a friend of Dean’s tries to offer her a deal to get him off the hook.
However, Linda’s torment continues into a new week but after her alcoholism gets out of control, she finds herself in danger.
On Tuesday (August 13), Linda has been up all night drinking with her son Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) at a loss of how to help her.
Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) steps in and tells Johnny she will look after his mum. But when lawyer Johnny returns to The Vic, a massive row breaks out between him and Linda.
Later, Johnny calms down from the confrontation with his mum, but when he arrives home – he finds Linda in a life-threatening situation.
Johnny calls an ambulance and paramedics rush into the pub to help Linda. At the hospital, Johnny turns on Gina blaming her for Linda’s plight, and demands she move out of The Vic.
Callum Highway (Tony Clay) is on hand to give his pal Johnny a shoulder to cry on. But Johnny misreads Callum’s kindness and tries to kiss him. But will Callum kiss him back?
Will Linda survive her ordeal? Or is this the end of the road for the struggling landlady?
Meanwhile, Gina heads over to her brother Junior’s (Micah Balfour) and asks to move in with him after Johnny throws her out. He’s thrown by the request and is panicking that his lover Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) will turn up so upsets Gina by rejecting her.
EastEnders viewers can tune in from Monday, August 12, to watch the drama unfold.
