Emmerdale Nicky’s exit ‘sealed’ after attack as fans ‘twig’ reason he’s leaving

Emmerdale’s Nicky Miligan, played by Lewis Cope, is set for a dramatic exit alongside boyfriend Suni Sharma, and the soap has finally hinted at what will drive him out of the village.

The hunky character was introduced to ITV viewers in 2022 when he joined his dad Caleb (played by Will Ash) in a plot to seize control of Home Farm and the Tate family fortune as Frank Tate’s illegitimate son and grandson.

Although he initially agreed to woo Gabby Thomas to make the plan work, Nicky, who is gay, ultimately couldn’t go through with marrying her and embarked on a redemption arc as he chose to stop aiding his father’s scheme.

Father and son have been on edge in recent episodes after Nicky’s mum, Ruby Fox-Miligan, deliberately ran over Ethan Anderson with her car, seemingly causing the lawyer’s death in shocking scenes.

Nicky was relieved when his mother (Beth Cordingly) decided to hand herself into the police and tell a grieving Charles Anderson the truth about his son’s tragic demise.

However, just as she was about to confess, Ruby found out that Ethan had actually died from an aneurysm, like his grandfather Victor Anderson before him, meaning she wasn’t responsible for his death.

Ruby returned to Mill Cottage and shared the news with Caleb, who was against her going to the police, where she was eventually confronted by Nicky.

Although Nicky had discovered the truth, he found himself discouraged by his mother’s lack of willingness to do the right thing. When Caleb tried to soothe him, Nicky unleashed his pent-up anger towards him.

Drama escalated into an all-out spat with Nicky unwilling to tolerate any further abuse from his father. He chose to lash out first and left the family abode to seek solace with his partner Suni – hinting at their imminent exit.

The sudden violent turn of events took viewers by surprise as reactions poured in on social media giant, Twitter. “Nicky punching Caleb when I tell you I cheered NOW they gave him good stuff when he’s about to leave”, posted a viewer.

It came to blows with Caleb

Another user curtly noted: “No wonder Nicky is leaving” while a third seemed to side with him: “I don’t blame Nicky for wanting to leave that village and his horrible parents.”

There were others who empathised with the character’s plight. One user expressed: “I don’t blame Nicky for being angry, she still knocked Ethan over with intent to kill!” Another chimed in with praise, stating: “Good to see that Nicky has had enough of his parents.”

In forthcoming scenes, viewers will see Nicky grappling with conflicting emotions as he opens up to Suni (played by actor Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) about the ongoing drama engulfing his family life.

Eager to escape the influence of his parents, Nicky proposes to Suni that they should elope together. However, given Suni’s recent reconnection with his estranged family members, notably half-brother Jai, the odds of him agreeing to depart seem unlikely.

Is there going to be a heart-wrenching plot twist?
