Emmerdale fans are speculating that Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) could be making a comeback as his half-brother arrives in the village. Robert, who was married to Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), is currently serving time for manslaughter after attacking Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie) in retaliation for the rape of his sister Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins).
The altercation left Lee hospitalised and he later died from his injuries. Robert and Aaron went on the run but after several close calls with the police, Robert decided to turn himself in. This led to him and Aaron parting ways.
In a recent twist, Aaron has been chatting to a mystery man on a dating app as he tries to find love again. However, on Tuesday (August 7), it was revealed that his new love interest is John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).
Victoria is set for a shock when she meets John and realises they share the same surname, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) awkwardly discloses that John could potentially be her half-brother and the son of her late father, Jack Sugden. This would also mean that Robert and John are half-siblings.

The Sugden family, one of the most iconic families in the Dales, has been dwindling in size over the years, with only Victoria and Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) still living in the village.
However, with John’s arrival, some viewers are convinced that Robert might also be making a surprise return to Emmerdale.
One viewer took to social media, asking: “What do you think of John Sugden? I quite like him but I’m curious to see how Aaron will react when he discovers that his date is actually Victoria’s brother John Sugden. Remember Robert was also a Sugden. #Emmerdale.”
