First-look snaps of Barry Keoghan’s role in the new thriller movie, Bring Them Down, have been released. The plot centres around two squabbling farm families in the west of Ireland whose actions have a catastrophic fallout.
The film’s official brief is: “Michael, the last son of a shepherding family, lives with his ailing father, Ray. Burdened by guilt over the death of his mother, Michael has isolated himself from the outside world.
“When a conflict with rival farmer Gary and his son Jack escalates, Michael is drawn into a devastating chain of events, forcing him to confront the horrors of his past and leaving both families permanently altered.

This Monday saw the release of a new photo showing Barry’s character Jack looking visibly distressed in a woodland setting, stirring more speculation about where the plot will take us. Another released snap captures Christopher Abbott’s character Michael in an intense standoff, brandishing a gun at an unseen adversary, reports the Mirror.
Another still discloses a bloodied-up Jack in conversation with Michael while sitting at the back of a red truck. The film, helmed by newcomer director Christopher Andrews, has been co-produced by Mubi, Screen Ireland, Wild Swim Films, Tailored Films and Frakas Productions.
Bring Them Down is gearing up for its grand premiere at the esteemed Toronto International Film Festival, kicking off on September 5. Following this, it will be available to stream on MUBI for viewers in the UK, Ireland, North America, Latin America, Belgium, Luxembourg, Turkey and the Netherlands.
The film was initially announced in 2021 with Paul Mescal and Tom Burke as the leads, but they’ve since been swapped out for Barry and Christopher.
