Former banker Avi, who appeared in the 2023 series, told Daily Star at the National Reality TV Awards last summer: “Filming the boardroom sees can take hours and no one knows what’s going to happen. Sometimes we got called at 3am and something else started at 2am, it’s crazy. One time we got told to go to sleep at 6.30pm and then we were up up at 2.30am.”

Offering some words to wisdom to the new batch of contestants, Avi said: “Be prepared because the show can take you in any direction. Also take it with a pinch of salt and enjoy the process.

The first episode of new series kicks off tonight (Thursday, February 1) and is already set to see plenty of arguments between the candidates.

The synopsis reads: “The hunt is on for Lord Sugar’s next business partner and this year’s candidates kick-off proceedings in the breathtaking Scottish Highlands.

“Under the watchful eye of aides Karren Brady and Tim Campbell, they are split into teams and tasked with hosting a corporate away day. Before long, there’s chaos in the kitchen and tardy tours. Back in the boardroom, one candidate is soon sent packing.”

Speaking about the upcoming eighteenths series, Lord Sugar said: “Well, I’m very pleased with this series because the quality of the candidates that we have attracted this year is superb, I have to say. This year, we’ve got a lot to work with.

“This year, we had more business focused tasks early in the audition process so that my team and the production company could filter out and find serious potential businesspeople.”

The Apprentice airs Thursdays at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
