This Morning viewers are absolutely livid after the show dropped a bombshell Gemma Collins, the ex-Towie queen, is set to join as a presenter, and fans are not having it.
In Tuesday’s episode (June 25), Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were steering the ship when they let slip that the GC will be taking over on Friday, leaving viewers gobsmacked. Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary usually keep things fresh on Fridays, but now there’s a plot twist Alison will be teaming up with Gemma at the end of the week.
The announcement has caused quite the stir online, with fans dashing to Twitter to vent their frustration. One peeved viewer tweeted: “Reminder to self Do Not Watch Friday’s #ThisMorning Do not want my day ruining by Gemma Collins.”

Another disgruntled fan posted: “Gemma collins on Friday? #ThisMorning thanks for the warning I’ll be sure to avoid it.”, reports the Mirror.
And a third exclaimed: “Oh my Lord, Gemma Collins and Alison Hammond will be on the same prog. Give me strength.”
Meanwhile, a fourth fumed: “Are you f*****g kidding me @thismorning? Gemma Collins of all people on your silly little show this Friday? “.
All this drama follows hot on the heels of Jason Manford giving This Morning the cold shoulder. The comedian and presenter has opted for BBC’s Morning Live instead, after making it clear he wasn’t after a presenting gig on This Morning.
The funnyman recently quipped: “I’m delighted to have been asked to guest co-host Morning Live this week. I always love supporting a Manchester based show and every time I’ve been on as a guest, the team have always been a real pleasure to work with. I’m looking forward to bringing a little chaos to the sofa once we go live! “.
Jason, known for his gigs on ‘8 out of 10 Cats’ and ‘Starstruck’, previously counted himself out for the ‘This Morning’ gig during Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield’s exit last year. Chatting to Metro, he said: “‘I’m quite a night owl. It doesn’t quite fit in with stand-up, which involves working in the evenings.”
“Maybe I would have done it 20 years ago when I was a bit younger and could burn the candle at both ends. I definitely need a nice sleep, and not early starts.”
