Jermaine Jenas’ wife Ellie Penfold has broken her silence on her husband’s humiliating sacking, saying she “just wants to move forward”.
The former Match Of The Day presenter was given the boot from the BBC after he sent inappropriate messages to women he worked with in August this year.
Three months on from the devastating louche ordeal, Ellie appeared at the launch of her personal care brand Preppy. While she had two of the three children she shares with Jermaine in tow, it appeared she left her wedding ring behind.
Ellie told The Sun: “It has been an incredibly hard and difficult time for myself and my family.
“My only focus has been on our children and building my brand Preppy.
“Now I just want to move forward.
She added that while her husband’s scandal has been hard, her only concern through the ordeal has been her children, adding “and that will not change”.
Preppy is a specialist personal care brand for children and teens, which Ellie founded with business partner Steph Leggit.
At the launch, held in Battersea, London, the former model said that she had been working on the brand for three years and that she was “incredibly proud” of it. She declined to comment on her 13-year marriage, however said Jermaine has supported her in her business venture.
A month after the scandal broke, Ellie chose to stay tight lipped on her husband’s behaviour, taking to social media to tease Preppy.
In an Instagram post, she wrote: ““As a mother of 4, I knew that there was a gap for something immersive, fun but also (and most importantly to my eldest). Has to look amazing for her Get ready with me routines!

Jermaine allegedly pestered a woman for bikini snaps before sending her a d*** pic. It was It was later revealed the dad-of-four had sent unsolicited messages to a female member of staff, which led to his sacking.
