Katie Price admits she’s a ‘hypocrite’ as she shares plastic surgery concerns

Katie Price has branded herself a “hypocrite” after sharing her concerns on plastic surgery.

The model and businesswoman, 46, blasted the media for portraying her in a negative light in a recent interview. However, she went on to admit that she has concerns for the upcoming generation of models trying to conform to beauty standards.

In an interview with Loaded magazine, Katie said that she was “a nice person”, and that “it’s just the media” that makes her out to be a drama queen. She also looked back at her time modelling for the lads’ mag, which often saw naked women scrawled across the front page.

“Loaded represents a good time in my life,” she recalled. “Loved it, enjoyed it, it was always an achievement when I was on the cover as there were so many girls who wanted to be on the cover.

“I always looked forward to it and then especially when the magazine came out, seeing me there, in the shops, my face on the cover!” But she admitted that while she enjoyed the feeling of making the front page 30 years ago, she would be worried being a model now.

“I’m glad I modelled in the ’90s without social media because there was no airbrushing, what you saw was the real thing,” the Pricey insisted. “So many young girls now are having facial surgery and I worry for them ‘cos I think, ‘What are they going to look like when they’re 46?'”

She then said: “Yeah I’ve had surgery, so maybe I’m a hypocrite but they’re so young! I think it’s going to destroy a lot of people, it’s dangerous, with social media.”

Katie then hit back at critics saying that her career was “real” and that she did not need to have plastic surgery in her younger years. She also went on to say that she wished she knew what life in the spotlight would be before she shot to fame, as she could have more control over the character she took on.

Elsewhere in the interview, Katie revealed she may be taking a U-turn in her career as she enters the personal motivator market. She explained that over the years, she has become more experienced and emotionally mature and wants to put her skills to good use.

Describing herself as a “caring person”, Katie revealed she was training to become a life coach and help people get their lives back on track. She revealed that she is processing what triggers her on a daily basis and by doing so, she is able to confront her trauma head on, something she believes can help others.

It comes as Katie’s financial woes rage on, as she continues to be affected by her second bankruptcy. The star was slapped with a £760k unpaid tax bill earlier this year, and after jetting off to Turkey for a facelift, she was detained on her return to London Heathrow and made to appear in court.
