Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland has left viewers stunned with her raunchy role in Netflix’s new erotic thriller — and there’s one racy scene fans can’t stop talking about.
The singer stars as criminal defence attorney Mea Harper in Mea Culpa, which became the top movie on the streaming service over the weekend. The X-rated film, which was written and directed by Tyler Perry, sees Kelly’s character take on the case of Zyair Malloy, a sexy artist accused of murdering his girlfriend.
But things turn hot and dangerous between the pair as he successfully seduces her. The erotic film is filled with steamy moments but fans went particularly wild for one lengthy sex scene.

After initially resisting his advances, Mea eventually gives in to Zyair and the pair get down and dirty in his artsy loft while smeared in paint. The explicit scene sees Zyair, played by Trevante Rhodes, pouring cups of gold, blue, and red paint down Mea’s body and massaging the oils into her skin while she smothers him in paint too.
Fans flooded Twitter to discuss the spicy moment. One person wrote: “That sex scene tho. Definitely got my attention. The paint. Whew!”
Another said: “Yo, the paint sex scene in Mea Culpa was so beautiful and sexy. Best part of the whole movie. 10/10.” A third added: “That paint scene from Mea Culpa was so intense tho.”
Kelly, who co-produced the film, revealed the raunchy paint scene was a collaborative idea between her and Tyler. She told ComingSoon.net: “I’m happy that it was memorable. That’s what we wanted. We wanted people to be able to take so many different things away from this movie, but definitely to be able to tap into that side and to be able to be creative, essentially.”
In an interview with Urban Bridgez Tyler also recalled how Kelly came up with racy ideas for the film. He explained: “She had this thing, for example, where she would say, ‘Let’s do something in a sex scene that’s never been done before on camera, especially for us as Black people.'”
He added: “So I thought, ‘What is that? We’ve done it all.’ But we came up with this incredible idea. I’m so proud of her for what she’s done.”
