Liam Gallagher admits he made first move in Oasis reunion after ringing Noel

Liam Gallagher says he was first to reach out and end the feud with brother Noel.

The brothers had been some of the biggest names in popular British music throughout the 90s and into the 00s. But things came to a screeching halt when the pair ended things in a huge bust-up at V Festival in Stafford back in 2009.

Since then, the brothers have been at war with each other, feuding at every opportunity. Oasis, which had been going for two decades, eventually was scrapped as the pair were unable to work together without insults being hurled about at every turn.

But last month, it was confirmed that after fifteen years apart, the brothers had reconciled and the band would be getting back together for a reunion tour. In total, five cities across the UK and Ireland would play host to the Britpop legends next summer, with tickets being completely sold out in a matter of hours.

Now, as the brothers start their preparations for the concerts next year, Liam has said he was the first person to reach out and squash the beef. He explained that he had called Noel first in order to get back on speaking terms, which then set the wheels in motion for the tour.

Taking to his Twitter account, an eager fan had asked the She’s Electric singer “what’s happening” between him and Noel. He shot back with a sarcastic response: “Right, so we’re in this band called Oasis, decent.

“He’s a guitarist, I’m the singer and we’re gonna do some gigs next year, hope that’s cleared things up,” he added in the hilarious clapback. But when asked who called who first, he had a clear response.

“I called him, but don’t tell anyone as I don’t want folk thinking I’m a soft lad and stuffs,” he explained. “Keep it between me and you, cheers,” followed by a kiss.

Elsewhere, when asked on how he was feeling ahead of the tour, 51-year-old Liam said he was ready to get back on stage and give his all with his brother. Responding to another commenter he answered: “I’m ready to go Rasta; this is what I do, ‘r kid – if everyone stays in their f***ing lane and has it all will be alright.”

Fans have been thrilled to see the return of the band behind hits like Champagne Supernova, Roll With It, Live Forever and Wonderwall. However, some were left seething when the ticket costs appeared to go up in real time due to high demand.

The process, known as “dynamic pricing”, left fans bemused after hours of waiting – only to find that general admission, which was billed as being £148.50, was actually £355.20. Several fans and organisations have hit out at the band for allowing the price hikes to go ahead, with many calling for a refund on the difference between the initial price and the new tariff.
