Liam Payne ‘was in process of walking away’ from solo career the day he died

One Direction’s Liam Payne was reportedly on the brink of quitting his solo music career when he tragically died earlier this month.

The pop star, who was just 31, fell from the third floor of a Buenos Aires hotel on October 16. Reports suggest that a hotel employee alerted the police after witnessing Liam behaving erratically prior to his death.

Companies House documents revealed the ‘Strip That Down’ singer had filed papers to quit as the director of four companies on the day of his death. These firms were instrumental in generating income from his recordings and live performances.

According to the Mail, his businesses included Hampton Music Ltd, valued at £17,300 in 2023, and Hampton Records Ltd, which was worth £300,000 in 2022 but had since plummeted to less than £75,000.

Long Play Touring LLP, a company focused on live performances, saw its value drop from £135,000 to £17,000 in 2023. Lastly, Hampton Publishing Ltd was valued at a mere £729.

“It was reports of an aggressive man, who was said to be under the influence. Emergency services arrived seven minutes later and within that time Liam had fallen from the balcony and sadly died.”, reports the Express.

The shocking incident was caught on CCTV. Argentinian journalist Paula Varela stated that the footage showed Liam fainting on the balcony before falling, but also claimed that authorities have chosen not to release it to the public.

Liam, a former member of One Direction, first gained fame in 2010. While the band was still together, he was signed to Sony.

However, after the group disbanded, Liam embarked on a solo career with Capitol Records, a rival company, in July 2016 and later worked under the main label, Universal. Unfortunately, his 2019 solo album received mixed reviews and only reached number 17 in the UK album charts before falling out of the top 50 the following week.

The beloved singer had been working on a second album, but it was reportedly delayed before Universal decided to drop him.
