An Argentinian waiter who was arrested after Liam Payne’s death confirms they did drugs in his hotel room together, but he never sold him anything – and only took one sentimental gift from the singer
The Argentinian waiter arrested in connection with drug dealer has denied being a Buenos Aires, claiming he refused a Rolex from the late singer.
Braian Nahuel Paiz, 24, revealed in an interview for TMZ’s documentary Liam Payne: Who’s to Blame? that he met Liam two nights before his tragic fall from a Buenos Aires hotel balcony.
He said the pair spent their time drinking whiskey and using cocaine, but firmly denied selling drugs to Liam or facilitating their use.
Paiz said: “They say I’m a dealer, that I carried drugs, that I sold them. The truth is, no—I didn’t sell them.”
Paiz was arrested on charges of supplying and facilitating narcotics but maintains his innocence. In the interview, he admitted to taking cocaine with Liam but insisted his only memento from their time together was a drawing Liam gave him, rejecting a more valuable Rolex watch.
He said: “I didn’t accept anything, just a drawing he drew which was part of my eyes, nose, mouth. He draws, I draw. I’m studying to do it, so I had drawings.”
In an interview on Argentinian TV in November, Paiz said: “I never supplied Liam with drugs.
“We got together there, and he showed me some of the music he was going to bring out. I’ve heard people saying he was taking drugs, but the truth is that when he got to the restaurant where I was working he was already under the effects of drugs and he didn’t actually eat anything.”
The full TMZ documentary airs tomorrow.
