Michael Mosley CCTV ‘shows TV star falling over on rocky hillside’ before death

Frightening CCTV footage has emerged reportedly showing Dr Michael Mosley tragically stumbling near the area where his corpse was found.

After the shocking incident, his grieving wife stated he “very nearly made it” to safety. The manner of his demise remains a mystery as Greek medics transferred his body to Rhodes for an autopsy. Dr Mosley’s widow, Dr Clare Bailey Mosley, confirmed the heartbreaking discovery of her husband’s body on Sunday morning.

He was found in a rocky patch close to Agia Marina beach on the Greek island of Symi. Reports now suggest that terrifying footage, retrieved from a beach bar at Agia Marina, shows the television physician navigating treacherously through a rocky incline near a fence before meeting with a fall outside of the camera range. His satchel was subsequently found “20 feet” from where the beloved health guru lay, previously observed by a film crew, reports the Mirror.

His wife informed the media that the 67-year-old, who vanished after leaving Agios Nikolaos beach, appeared to have embarked on an “incredible climb, took the wrong route and collapsed where he couldn’t be easily seen” by the search and rescue brigade immediately deployed.

Preliminary evaluation by the coroner dismissed any malevolent criminal activity. Still, comprehensive examinations are anticipated in Rhodes on the father-of-four to confirm the cause of death.

Dr Bailey Mosley released a heartfelt statement through her agent to the PA news agency, announcing the tragic loss of her husband: “I don’t know quite where to begin with this. It’s devastating to have lost Michael, my wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband. We had an incredibly lucky life together. We loved each other very much and were so happy together.”

Dr Mosley continued to share her pride and gratitude: “I am incredibly proud of our children, their resilience and support over the past days. My family and I have been hugely comforted by the outpouring of love from people from around the world. It’s clear that Michael meant a huge amount to so many of you.”

Reflecting on the circumstances of his passing, she said: “We’re taking comfort in the fact that he so very nearly made it. He did an incredible climb, took the wrong route and collapsed where he couldn’t be easily seen by the extensive search team. Michael was an adventurous man, it’s part of what made him so special.”

She also acknowledged the local efforts in the search: “We are so grateful to the extraordinary people on Symi” who worked “tirelessly” to help find Mosley, noting that some worked from dawn until dusk unasked.

Mosley’s four children, who joined their mother on Symi earlier in the week, were part of the search effort that ended when his body was found on Sunday morning beneath a fence near Agia Marina beach, set against a backdrop of challenging terrain. Police were at the scene around 20 minutes after a body was spotted 90 metres from the shore.
