Naomi Campbell has broken her silence on Liam Payne’s death after they were rumoured to have dated.
The supermodel and fashion icon, 54, broke cover to offer her messages of condolence to Liam’s friends after the One Direction star died suddenly last Wednesday (October 16). Naomi made her feelings clear as she took to the comments section of another post.
Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger led tributes to the star, who died at the age of 31, with a heartfelt post on her social media. Nicole had been instrumental in the formation of One Direction during the Bootcamp stage of The X Factor back in 2010.

Taking to her social media accounts on Friday (October 25), Nicole shared a touching tribute to Liam as she took some time to process the shocking news. Naomi herself then offered her own moments of sadness, taking to the comments section with several dove emojis, a broken heart and prayer hands.
It comes after Naomi and Liam had been rumoured to have dated years previously. According to the Daily Mail, model Naomi had dated the Strip That Down star when she was 48 and he was 25, with things eventually fizzling out in April of 2019.
Speaking to the Mirror at the time of the relationship’s demise, a source close to the couple said: “Liam and Naomi had a lot of fun together, they got on well and had a laugh. But it just wasn’t meant to be.”
The insider added that they would “stay friends” and that there was no bad blood between the two as they went their separate ways. Speculation grew that the couple had been hooking up when the pair welcomed in the New Year together in Ghana.
After then, it was reported that the duo had a “mind-blowing” time together in both New York and London, often leaving cheeky messages underneath each other’s posts. The relationship was never fully confirmed by either party, but Liam gushed over Naomi in an interview, saying she was “perfection in a person” and “a beautiful soul”.
It comes as tributes continue to pour in for the For You singer after he suddenly fell to his death in Argentina last Wednesday. Since then, some of the celebs whom Liam interacted with have looked back to reminisce on their memories.
Don’t Hold Your Breath singer Nicole was one of those, paying tribute to Liam. In the heartbreaking post, Nicole said she would “forever cherish and treasure” the memories she had with Liam during his meteoric rise to fame. She also said: “It’s been so hard to process that you’re no longer here, but I am grateful to have known your kind heart, sweet soul and character.”
Investigations into Liam’s death in Buenos Aires are continuing, with officers searching computers in the hotel to look for signs of potential foul play. Meanwhile, Liam’s dad has flown out to Argentina to speak with police on the pace of the investigation so they can retrieve Liam’s remains and bring him back to the UK.
