New Oasis US gigs but unexpected dynamic pricing decision will leave UK fans cheesed off

OASIS are having a second go at cracking America after announcing their biggest North American dates ever.

The reunited Gallagher brothers unveiled five stadium gigs kicking off in Toronto on August 24 before calling at venues in Chicago, New Jersey, Los Angeles and Mexico City.

The band’s management have also announced “dynamic pricing” won’t be used when tickets go on sale on October 4.

And don’t be surprised if UK fans snap them up because it might be easier, and cheaper, to get North American tickets than UK ones. As far as the brothers are concerned this isn’t a second chance for them, but rather a last opportunity for Stateside fans to get on board.

They quipped: “America… Oasis is coming. You have one last chance to prove that you loved us all along… Be careful what you wish for.”

Oasis never managed to repeat their UK success in the US, where Wonderwall is their only single to break the Top 50 on the Hot 100.

However, they did two US tours in 1995 and second LP What’s The Story) Morning Glory went platinum in the States, but they never quite maximised that popularity.

Noel famously said: “America…couldn’t handle the fact that we didn’t give a f**k about anything.

“I think that’s the reason we’ve never really had a No1 album in America – they wouldn’t go the extra mile for us because we wouldn’t go the extra mile for them.”

Now 16 years after their last US show, the lads are determined to make up for lost time by playing 60,000-plus capacity venues teased via Billboards across the States.

And there are gaps in their schedule hinting at further shows in other cities after the tickets go on sale this Friday.
