P Diddy desperate to take the stand and ‘tell his story’ in sex trafficking trial

Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs wants to testify during his upcoming trial.

The 54-year-old rap star is currently awaiting trial on federal sex crime charges, and Marc Agnifilo, his attorney, has confirmed that the hip-hop mogul plans to testify during the hearing.

In a clip from the TMZ documentary The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment, Agnifilo said: “I don’t know that I could keep him off the stand. I think he is very eager to tell his story.”

Combs recently pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Agnifilo has also suggested that his client will address video footage of him appearing to assault Cassie Ventura, his ex-partner, in a hotel back in 2016.

Agnifilo said: “I think he will tell every part of his story, including what you see on the video.”

Earlier this month, Combs appeared at a court in Manhattan after being charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Asked during a court hearing how he pleaded to the charges, Combs replied: “Not guilty.”

The rapper’s lawyers subsequently requested that Combs be freed on bond, pending trial, after paying a sum of $50 million.

However, following a lengthy debate between legal teams on whether Combs represents a flight risk, Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky announced that the rap star will remain in detention until his sex trafficking trial begins.

Agnifilo said later that the music star is determined to “establish his innocence”.

Agnifilo told reporters outside the court: “He’s going to fight this. He’s innocent. He came to New York to establish his innocence. We believe in him wholeheartedly. He didn’t do these things. There’s no coercion and no crime.”
