Paddy McGuinness ‘not rushing’ to divorce Christine and admits there’s ‘still love’

Paddy McGuinness and his wife Christine went through a high profile split in 2022.

The pair confirmed that they were going their separate ways in July 2022, but they have remained close and still share their family home. They have three children together including twins Leo and Penelope and their youngest Felicity.

Paddy and Christine were married for 11 years before they confirmed they were separating – but he’s still not rushing for a divorce. The funnyman admitted he’s still “protective” of both his ex and their children.

Paddy added: “Whether we work it through or we don’t, what we do have is a really, really lovely family unit at home.”

He admitted the pair “love each other” and said he often forgets they’re separated. When it comes to divorce though, Paddy told the publication neither of them are in a rush.

He said the only time they argue is if there are lawyers involved and they’re discussing divorce, but he added: “The reality, though is that I don’t think either of us are in a rush to get a divorce.”

Last year, Christine spoke about her plans in the dating world and admitted she found the prospect “terrifying”. In a chat with The Mirror, she said it was her “worst nightmare”.

Instead, the pair have found mutual ground and are happily living together while being open to the thought of finding someone new.

They announced their split in a joint statement at the time. They wrote on Instagram: “We hadn’t planned on sharing this publicly until we were ready but after the lack of privacy surrounding our personal life, we feel left with no other option but to clarify.

“A while ago we took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus as always is to continue loving and supporting our children.

“This was not an easy decision to make but we’re moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children.”
