Rivals will be making its debut very soon but exactly when will the drama be ready to watch?
Disney+ is set to host the much-anticipated adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s 1980s novel Rivals which is part of the author’s Rutshire Chronicles series.
The seductive drama filled with game-playing is about to garner a whole new fanbase as it prepares to debut on the streaming platform with an exciting all-star cast.
Rivals on Disney+ release date
Rivals is set to make its grand entrance on Friday, October 18, on Disney+, reports the Express.
The show will comprise eight episodes, all available for binge-watching on the day of its initial release.

Rivals boasts a star-studded cast, led by actor Alex Hassell, known for his roles in His Dark Materials, The Boys, and Silent Witness. He plays the charismatic former Olympian and Tory MP Rupert Campbell-Black.
Joining him is Doctor Who and Good Omens star David Tennant, playing Rupert’s egotistical neighbour Lord Baddingham, who also happens to control Corinium Television.
Aidan Turner, known for Poldark and Being Human, joins the cast as Declan O’Hara, a presenter for Corinium TV. EastEnders ‘ Danny Dyer also features as the endearing self-made electronics millionaire Freddie Jones.
Some of the other big names include The Inbetweeners’ Emily Atack, W1A’s Rufus Jones, Our Girl’s Luke Pasqualino and Sex Education’s Bella Maclean, to mention a few.
Rivals on Disney+ plot
Adapted from Jilly Cooper’s novel bearing the same title, Rivals plunges into the cut-throat world of independent television during the late 1980s.
The narrative of both the book and series centres around the competition between ex-Olympic rider and Conservative MP Rupert Campbell-Black and TV station controller Lord Tony Baddingham.
With the future of Corinium Television teetering on the edge, the duo are at odds, each resolute in their determination to emerge victorious.
Rivals premieres on Friday, October 18, on Disney+.
