The director of the Terrifier franchise has confirmed that the third instalment will feature “one of the most insanely horrific” scenes yet.
The horror series follows the demonic Art the Clown as he terrorises teenagers in truly sadistic ways. We’re talking genitals being hacked off, people being scalped and broken bottles lodged into eyes. It’s truly frightening stuff.
But the third instalment has taken things even further – far enough, says director Damien Leone, that it made one star nearly throw up while filming. Taking to X – formerly Twitter – the director was ready to tease fans with the upcoming horror hit.

He wrote: “Can honestly say we just filmed one of the most insanely horrific scenes of the Terrifier franchise and you’ll never believe who couldn’t handle it on set… the BTS is hilarious. Can’t wait for you all to see!”
It turned out lead actor David Howard Thornton was the one who almost puked. He plays the terrifying Art the Clown, and despite the horrific things he’s already seen and done during filming, this one apparently took it too far. He confirmed in response to a fan on social media: “I will just say that this is the kill that almost made me vom. That’s a first.”
Damien went on to show fans what else they’re in store for after the cast and crew “got chills” on set. He said: “The past couple of weeks on the set of Terrifier 3 have been some of the most intense and taxing of my career! But seeing genuine smiles around the monitor & hearing numerous cast & crew members say they’ve gotten chills multiple times makes it all worthwhile. It’s a good one!”
It comes after the release of Terrifier 2 had fans throwing up in cinemas, with sick bags provided for those with upset stomachs. Damien confirmed: “To everyone saying that reports of people fainting and puking during screenings of Terrifier 2 is a marketing ploy, I swear on the success of the film it is NOT. These reports are 100% legit. I wish we were smart enough to think of that! But then again we didn’t need to.”
Viewers were keen to share their own experiences with the film on social media, with one writing: “The guy behind me passed out cold and crashed into my chair, another guy left because he didn’t feel good, I overheard him say and walking out of the theatre door I heard a guy puking hard and loud in the bathroom.”
Terrifier 3 is not out until later this year but fans can rewatch Terrifier 2 on Paramount+, which is available for £6.99 per month or £69.90 per annum in the UK, after a free seven-day trial.
The service is accessible on Apple, Google, Roku, and Samsung platforms, too.

Another said: “I saw Terrifier 2 and screamed and vomited and s****** and cried and fainted all at the same.” While a third fan agreed: “Almost threw up three times watching Terrifier 2.”
Vomit bags were handed out at screenings, with the warning: “This vomit bag is being provided due to the extreme violence and excessive gore of this feature. Guaranteed to cause gastrointestinal upset.” One quote printed on the bag confirmed the sequel was “as f***ing awful as the first” movie.
