The Chase star Mark Labbett was shocked when he experienced a first on the ITV show.
The quizzer, 58, went head-to-head with four new hopefuls who hoped to walk away with some cash in their pocket. First up was Ellen, who managed to answer three questions correctly in the cash builder.
Despite an impressive performance from The Beast, the 28-year-old was the first player to make it through to the final chase. Up next was IT engineer Ben, who pushed the team’s total to £9,000.

Although Mark was hot on his tail, he followed in Ellen’s footsteps and made it back. Third to face the chaser was Dan, who achieved the biggest score of the day with £7,000.
Mark knew he faced a challenge when the 41-year-old also made it through to the final round. The fourth and final contestant to take on The Beast was Ange.
Like her fellow players, Ange opted for the middle offer. Mark wasted no time in chasing her down the board, landing one step behind her when she was three from home.
In the nail-biting round, The Beast was constantly one step behind his opponent. When the 58-year-old was one question away from making it back to her teammates, host Bradley Walsh made an observation.
“Four one-question shoot-outs right?” he asked Mark. The chaser was shocked, responding: “I don’t think we’ve ever had this before!”
Despite being just one step away from bringing her team’s total to £20,000, Ange fell at the final hurdle, answering the final question incorrectly as Mark capitalised on her mistake.
The trio headed into the final chase and put on an impressive display, answering 17 questions correctly. Although The Beast had a rocky start, which included answering three questions wrong, he caught the team with 16 seconds to spare.
