The cast of This Morning hit the town as they celebrated their Christmas do together, but despite the happy faces – one star was not present for the joyous festivities
The stars of This Morning have headed out to celebrate their festive cheer – without one person.
With Christmas right around the corner, the stars of the flagship ITV daytime show hit the town earlier this week away from the cameras. Some of the show’s biggest stars including Cat Deeley, Alison Hammond and Josie Gibson were all in attendance as they made their way to the show’s party.
Regular host Cat Deeley, 48, arrived in style as she kept things casual with her look, wrapping up warm in a long white coat, which she worked with a white roll-neck top and jeans. Alison Hammond, 49, also showed up to the party in a glamorous shimmering black, sequinned frock and a pair of silver kitten heels, but opted to keep herself warm outside by wearing a full-length bomber jacket.

The do was held at the iconic Fox and Pheasant pub, which is owned by 2000s hitmaker James Blunt in the fancy London area of Chelsea. Other famous faces who regularly appear on the show – including Vanessa Feltz and Ashley James – all got glammed up as they headed in for a night of fun and festivities.

Ashley headed out to the venue is a tight-fit fluffy brown coat to make her outfit pop, whilst Vanessa stole the show with a glamorous black jacket that perfectly matched the trousers she wore to the event. However, one guest who was not present at the event was regular chef Gino D’Acampo, as he continues to face allegations of inappropriate behaviour at the channel.
On Monday (December 9), it was revealed that Italian stallion Gino had been accused by an unnamed source at ITV to have acted “inappropriately” on the set of his shows between 2006 and 2011. The complaint was only lodged to ITV bosses last week, in the wake of the Gregg Wallace scandal, after 13 complaints were made about his conduct on set.
The Christmas party was also tinged with sadness as the show’s editor Martin Frizell bids farewell to the show next year. His exit came two months after former host Phillip Schofield launched an attack on Martin, bringing up two years of problems at the show in the process.
ITV is expected to be advertising the role externally, with a handsome salary of £155,000 being paid annually to the lucky candidate. A source close to the show told The Sun that this will be the first of many new changes for the programme.
“This really is the end of an era for daytime telly; huge changes are afoot,” the insider said. “The show has never truly recovered from Holly Willoughby and Phil’s departure, and this is a chance to move on from the old guard and bring in fresh faces to detoxify the brand once and for all.”
The source went on to say that a number of tweaks will be made in coming months, including the presenter’s rots and some new features. They added that ITV bosses are now hoping these changes will help to bring in a younger audience and relaunch This Morning back to its previous levels of success.
