Tommy Fury admits ‘there was an issue’ as he teases ‘truth’ to Molly-Mae Hague split

Tommy Fury has admitted there was “an issue” between him and Molly-May Hague as he hinted he may reveal the “truth of our situation”.

The Love Island pair called time on their relationship this summer, five years after they met in the villa, and speculation about what happened between them has been rife. But boxer Tommy has now dropped a hint in his new book Lightning Can Strike Twice: My Life As A Fury.

In the book, he suggested that although it isn’t the right time now, he may discuss what happened between them in the future. “Things have happened, there was an issue, we acknowledged it, we talked about it and we split up,” he said.

Tommy – who shares one-year-old daughter Bambi with the influencer – also said: “At the moment I don’t want to go into detail about recent events. It isn’t fair to talk about a situation that involves more than just me.”

The 25-year-old star told readers: “When the time is right I may talk about what has happened and the truth of our situation. I haven’t figured out how to put it into words yet, but I am sure I will.”

Molly-Mae and Tommy met and fell for each other on Love Island in 2019, with their love story charming fans of the ITV dating show. They welcomed Bambi in January 2023.

Months later Tommy got down on one knee and popped the question and Molly-Mae said yes. However, less than a year later Love Island’s golden couple confirmed they had split and were going their separate ways.

Both addressed the break-up in separate posts on Instagram, with Molly-Mae, 25, saying that she was “extremely upset” and Tommy telling his fans that he was “heartbroken”.

There have since been rumours about what was behind the break-up, with claims that the boxer may have cheated on Molly-Mae. However, Tommy – who is the younger half-brother of boxing superstar Tyson Fury – has denied any wrongdoing, posting on Instagram: “The false allegations about me have been horrendous, thank you to everybody who has stood by me through this.”
