Amanda Holden makes tearful confession as she died and went into coma during traumatic birth

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has made a heartbreaking confession about the time she nearly died after welcoming her daughter Hollie to the world in 2012

Amanda Holden has made a heartbreaking confession about her near-death experience.

The 54-year-old Britain’s Got Talent judge previously revealed she died for 40 seconds in 2012 after giving birth to her thirteen-year-old daughter Hollie. Ageless Amanda shares two daughters with her husband Chris, Hollie and Lexi, 19.

The couple faced the ultimate heartbreak in 2011, a year before welcoming Hollie into the world, as Amanda sadly delivered a stillborn child, son Theo. She still pays touching tributes to him every year on social media.

Amanda fought back tears as she opened up about the traumatic birth with Hollie during a chat with her best friend, Alan Carr. The TV star was visibly emotional as she discussed the moment she died and was put into a coma during Hollie’s birth on an episode of their BBC renovation show Amanda and Alan’s Spanish Job.

Earlier in the episode, the duo had been working in the courtyard when Amanda received sad news about the property they;d been working on. The vine she loved had caused significant structural damage to the property and had to be removed.

At the end of the day, they sat down on some fold-up camper chairs, sipped on Cava and reflected on the fragility of life and the inevitability of change. Amanda admitted: “When you look at massive landscapes like this, it does put things into perspective. When you lose someone you believe, don’t you, that they’ve gone somewhere.

“I’m not particularly religious but I don’t believe it’s the end.” Amanda explained she now can’t stop thinking about death and has a new lease for live after the traumatic birth.

“Without being too maudlin, I had a really difficult birth with Hollie. Which ended up with me in a coma, I died,” She said. “I was in intensive care and the baby was fine, and then when I came round and everything was alright, I never stopped thinking about death after that. I’m like, ‘Make every second count,’ literally.”

The mum-of-two previously opened up about the harrowing experience in her autobiography, where she revealed she pleaded with her husband Chris not to let her die. She confessed: “Unbeknown to everyone, my placenta had attached itself to my bladder, and when they lifted it out, it snagged a large artery and ruptured it. I had haemorrhaged and was bleeding to death. I looked at Chris and said, ‘Don’t let me die’.”

She has returned Britain’s Got Talent alongside fellow judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, and KSI for its latest instalment. She has been known for rocking a number of saucy outfits on the ITV talent show – but Amanda isn’t afraid to wear whatever she wants.

She told The Sun: “I haven’t even thought about my semi-finals outfits yet, but I constantly scroll through Instagram when I’m on car journeys and bombard my stylist with loads of ideas – it’s thigh splits and cleavage!”
