Borat legend Sacha Baron Cohen has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a new Disney+ show, and has been on a fitness plan to get that supervillain look
Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen looks worlds away from his mankini-wearing days as he prepares for his new role. The funnyman has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in a huge boost to his net worth, and has been on a fitness plan to get the supervillain look. And fans have been assured the ripped new look is “not AI” as they were left amazed by the transformation.
Sacha, who split from wife Isla Fisher last April, posed for Men’s Fitness to unveil his new look. And he looks completely different from his Borat days, having retired the cheeky character after almost being killed at a gun protest.
The actor, 53, shared the incredible images, including the magazine cover, on Instagram. The cover teases Sacha’s transformation with: “From Borat to buff in 25 minutes a day.”
People couldn’t believe the new look, with comedian Chelsea Handler asking: “Is this AI?”
But personal trainer Alfonso Moretti hopped into the comments to assure everyone it was very real. He said: “For anyone who thinks this is AI, you’re right. Completely. AI as in absolutely incredible!”
He shared the images on his own account too, and wrote: “I could not be more proud of Sacha Baron Cohen!
“Sacha trusted my process and followed the plan exactly. Not only did he earn better health and fitness with incredible aesthetics… but also… the cover of Men’s Fitness!”
He went on: “Tell me he doesn’t look absolutely incredible!”
Sacha says in the accompanying interview: “I now believe that just 20 to 30 minutes of movement a day can make a real difference – and it’s something anyone can fit into their routine, especially celebrities with personal assistants to do all the boring stuff like shopping and attending friends’ funerals.”
Fans in the comments heaped praise on the Bruno actor’s ripped new look.
One said: “And he’s 53. Dude looks incredible.”
Another said: “Very nice man.” A third joked: “Divorce. It does a body good.”
Meanwhile, countless others quoted Borat, saying: “Wowaweewa! Very nice!”
Sacha is playing supervillan Mephisto in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He appears in the Disney+ series Ironheart.
It follows the events of the 2022 film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, with Riri Williams getting entangled with dark arts gang leader The Hood.
Sacha’s Mephisto is an extra-dimensional demon who originally gave The Hood, or Parker Robbins, the cloak which enabled him to use magical abilities.
Men’s Fitness is on sale from Friday, July 25.
