Oscar nominated actor Mickey Rourke joined the Celebrity Big Brother house this week and hit controversy as soon as he walked in as he oggled host, but now he admits he doesn’t know how the show works
Mickey Rourke shocked Celebrity Big Brother fans with a surprising revelation about the show’s format during his time in the house.
The 72-year-old actor, who is no stranger to controversy, made an unexpected discovery while chatting with fellow housemate Chesney Hawkes. Rourke admitted that he did not realise the cameras filmed 24/7.
He believed the cameras would stop recording at certain times, only to be stunned when Chesney informed him that the cameras were on all the time, capturing every moment inside the house.
According to his introductory video, he has no idea what Big Brother is, but Ray Winstone told him he should sign up, and that is why he decided to go into the house.
Fans of the show quickly took to social media to share their surprise and amusement.
Many could not believe that Mickey, a seasoned Hollywood star, was unaware of such a fundamental aspect of Big Brother .
One fan tweeted, “This man really doesn’t know what Big Brother is,” while another added, “The fact that Mickey thinks they stop filming?” The exchange became one of the most talked-about moments of the season so far.
Later in the show, Mickey opened up about his decision to join Celebrity Big Brother .
In a candid conversation with Trisha Goddard, he revealed the real reason behind his appearance on the show. Mickey admitted that he had turned down a low-budget independent film in favor of participating in the reality show.
He explained, “I’ve done too many s****y independent movies, so I thought I’d try something new.”
This admission further surprised viewers, as it highlighted a side of Mickey that was unexpected for many fans.
However, his time on the show wasn’t without controversy. Mickey’s behavior raised eyebrows when he arrived on stage he looked the host AJ Odudu up and down and said: “Nice outfit… I wanna stay here with you.”
