Coronation Street legend Jack P Shepherd, who plays David Platt, tied the knot with his wife Hanni earlier this year
Coronation Street’s Jack P Shepherd has been supported by fans after sharing a joint marriage announcement with his wife.
The 37-year-old shot to fame when he joined the ITV soap back in 2000, when he was just 12. David is the mischievous son of Martin Platt, played by Sean Wilson, and Gail, played by Helen Worth.
Over the years, David has played a part in several big storylines, from pushing his mum down the stairs and nearly killing her to seeking revenge on villain Richard Hillman, and a heartbreaking suicide plot.
However, away from the long-running show, Jack’s life couldn’t be further away from his character, as he is happily married to his wife, Hanni Treweek.

The pair gathered their loved ones together for the special ceremony, which took place in Manchester earlier this year. The nuptials happened a year after Jack had romantically proposed to Hanni on a dream safari holiday.
The loved-up duo were joined at the celebration by some of Jack’s current colleagues, including Lucy Fallon, Alan Halsall, Tina O’Brien, and, notably, his former on-screen mum Helen Worth, as well as some of his showbiz pals, like Celebrity Big Brother co-star Chris Hughes.
This Christmas marked the first that Jack and Hanni have celebrated as husband and wife, and they took to social media to share highlights of their festivities.
In one snap, Jack and Hanni are seen dressed in gorgeous outfits as they pose in front of a Christmas tree. In another photo, Hanni shows off her sparkling wedding rings.
Hanni captioned the post: “Our first Christmas as Mr & Mrs Shepherd. We hope you all had a magical one.”
Friends and fans of the happy couple took to the comments to leave a flurry of well-wishes, with one person writing, “Beautiful photos, beautiful couple.”
A second stated: “Power couple (flame emoji)”, while a third chimed in: “Looks amazing.”
“Happy Xmas Mr & Mrs Shepherd”, gushed one follower while another added: “You both look lush.”
Jack has celebrated 25 years as David Platt in Coronation Street. Currently on the ITV soap, David and his wife, Shona (Julia Goulding), are expecting their first baby together, but they have recently faced a heartbreaking decision.
During a routine check-up, Shona and David discovered their unborn daughter is facing complications, as an ultrasound revealed a mass/tumor on the baby’s neck, requiring high-risk surgery or a termination.
Shona is determined to have her baby, and the couple are continuing with the pregnancy. However, more tense drama is expected for the couple as Corrie crosses over with Emmerdale.
In a trailer for the special episode, which airs on January 5, Shona and pregnant Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) from the Dales can be seen struggling following a car accident. Will Shona and David be ok?
