Daisy May Cooper has opened up on the time she was held ‘hostage’ by a psychic in Los Angeles, who told her she had a curse on her and needed to pay to have it removed
Daisy May Cooper, the ‘This Country’ sensation, found herself in a sticky situation recently, when a psychic in Los Angeles took her hostage and demanded the sum of £550 to lift a so-called curse. Yet despite the far-fetched nature of the tale, it’s not some wacky plot from her show but real-life drama for the 38 year old star.
During her trip to LA for some upcoming work discussions, Daisy made a pit stop at a medium’s house, who spooked her with some worrying wisdom about her beau Anthony Huggins. In scenes more befitting a Hollywood horror, the medium soon turned on Daisy, locking her in and demanding cash to rid her of the ‘curse’.
“I found a psychic in Santa Monica,” recounted the BBC darling and spiritual enthusiast (who once even fancied a fling with a phantom), “Ant dropped me off and she said, ‘Is that your partner? You’ll be with him forever… but you shouldn’t be.’ She locked me in her house and said I had a curse and I had to pay her $700 dollars to remove the curse. And I paid it.”
Contemplating the bizarre incident, the mum-of-three, who met Ant on Hinge two years ago, admitted: “I’ve been had, haven’t I? I’m curse free… but I’m worried about my partner.”
Ever the believer, Daisy has bundled her otherworldly encounters with tales from others into her book, Hexy Bitch. But all mystic predictions aside, things with Ant seem peachy, as the pair are rumoured to be getting married, with Daisy revealing the big news herself by dubbing him her “fiancé” on Instagram stories, reports the Mirror.
And that’s not the only exciting thing in Cooper’s life, as Daisy’s got some exciting news for fans of her BBC smash-hit Am I Being Unreasonable? too, revealing a cheeky guest appearance to keep an eye out for. “Keep your eyes peeled for my fit fiancé and baby daddy @ant_evo that I managed to crowbar into the playground scene,” she teased her followers.
It’s been a big year for Daisy and Ant, who welcomed little Benji this past June, and with two children already from her prior marriage to ex Will Weston, Daisy’s juggling motherhood with her TV comeback.
The telly star is stirring up screens with the brand spanking new second series of her Bafta-snatching comedy, Am I Being Unreasonable? on the BBC. Discussing the show with Alan Carr on his Life’s A Beach podcast, Daisy didn’t shy away from admitting it’s not all been smooth sailing: “We wrote ourselves into a bloody corner. I had four breakdowns. I do believe this series is better than the first.”
Creator and star of the show, Daisy’s bringing back the laughs as Nic, but that’s not all. She’s also reuniting with her bro Charlie Cooper. These two legendarily crafted and starred in This Counrtry together, but now Charlie’s rocking a mullet and specs for his part as Dutch bloke Jurgeon.
But here’s the kicker, talking about roping Charlie in, she said: “The funny thing is, we share the same agent, and the same mum, so he can’t exactly say f***ing no can he? I had to put him in a mullet and I had to put him in glasses. The funny thing is, actually, he kept dropping the accent. He’s not very good at a Dutch accent. We had to kind of write that in later on, that he’s not really f***ing Dutch.”
