Drake fans work out ‘truth’ as rapper throws shoe at drone in mysterious video

God’s Plan hitmaker Drake was seen fending off a rogue drone that had flown up to his lavish Sydney penthouse in Australia, but people believe all is not at it seems

Drake was rudely interrupted by a drone that had flown into his penthouse in Sydney, Australia.

The rapper has been hitting the headlines because of his on-going beef with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar, who performed his Drake diss track Not Like Us at the Super Bowl. Drake has sued Universal Music Group (UMG) for defamation and harassment, claiming the song falsely accuses him of being a paedophile in a “campaign to create a viral hit”.

However, it appears the 38-year-old rapper is now having to fight off drones trying to enter his lavish Aussie apartment. A viral video shows the God’s Plan hitmaker walking onto his balcony and spotting a drone hovering above his table.

Drake looks annoyed by the device and proceeds to step back inside the property, pick up a shoe, and throw it at the drone in an attempt to scare it off. However, he fails in his mission as the shoe – seemingly a Yeezy slider – misses by quite a lot, and the drone flies off.

Fans have been studying the clip and believe it’s actually an advert for Stake Casino, a gambling website that Drake has had affiliations with in the past. This is due to the fact that the drone gets a good look at his laptop, which is sat on his table.

At the beginning of the clip, the device reveals that Drake was looking at a gambling site on the laptop. One person on X, formerly Twitter, wrote: “This is an ad. Come on people.”

Another noted that someone was visible in the reflection of the glass window, which could have been the pilot of the drone. “This is a staged video af to promote Stake,” said another. “You can clearly see drone pilot sitting behind the corner,”

“You noticed the video showed drakes tablet on the gambling app,” said a third, and a fourth commented: “It was a Stake ad it’s not a real video.”

However, others weren’t so sure, as one asked: “A random drone flies into Drake’s hotel balcony, catching him completely off guard and the first thing y’all say is that it’s a Stake ad just because of the screen?”
