Emmerdale viewers are convinced that an iconic member of the Tate family is set to make a monumental return to the ITV village, which would leave Kim Tate stunned
Emmerdale enthusiasts are buzzing with theories about the comeback of a Tate family icon, a move that would undoubtedly shock Kim Tate (portrayed by Claire King).
Over the past year, Kim has been at the centre of several dramatic incidents, including her husband Will Taylor’s (Dean Andrews) heart attack and subsequent death during the festive season.
The sudden reappearance of her long-lost step-grandson Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), after six years away, added to her astonishment. Since his return, Joe has re-integrated himself into village life and moved into Home Farm with Kim.
However, it’s clear that Joe is hiding something big, given his health problems and sudden desire to bond with his brother Noah Dingle (Jack Downham). Kim quickly figured out that Joe, who has begun an affair with her stepdaughter Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley), had a hidden agenda for returning to the Dales.
In a bid to unearth his secrets, she planted a bug in his room to listen in on his chats via her laptop. But Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), who also has suspicions about Joe, swiped the laptop.
After playing the audio files, Charity uncovered Joe and Dawn’s secret romance and has since been blackmailing him. Fans are now forecasting another plot twist – the reappearance of Jean Tate, the daughter of Zoe Tate (Leah Bracknell) and Scott Windsor (Ben Freeman), which could cause even more upheaval for the Tate clan, according to Leeds Live, reports Leicestershire Live.
Jean, played by Megan Pearson, made her mark on Emmerdale as Kim’s step-granddaughter, first showing up in January 2003. She waved goodbye to the soap and headed to New Zealand with her mum Zoe in September 2005.
In a Reddit thread, telly buffs shared their yearning for Jean’s comeback. One keen viewer posted: “I want to see them bring in Jean. The Tates are classic Emmerdale, definitely one of the most interesting families the show has ever had. Kim has been the only Tate for a while and putting her with Will and co was a massive mistake.”
This feeling resonated with other fans, as another chimed in: “Read my mind! ! ! ! ! ! ” A third enthusiast added: “I completely agree as she would be in her early 20s and Zoe did leave with both Jean and Joe so they definitely grew up together.”
