James Bond fans have been eagerly awaiting an update about the film franchise’s next instalment – sadly, it’s not good news as many will be disappointed to discover
Bad news for James Bond fans.
It has not yet been confirmed who will take Daniel Craig’s place as 007 in the iconic film franchise, and moviegoers will be forced to wait at least another three years for the next instalment.
The last James Bond movie, No Time To Die, was released back in 2021 meaning that fans of the franchise will have waited at least seven years for another film. Director Martin Campbell addressed the speculation and told The Mirror about his plans.
“I think it’ll be two years away, three years away. Is there going to be another Bond? That’s the question. There’s this legal thing right now. And they have this problem with Amazon. It’s sort of the same thing.”
Back in December 2024 it was reported that a new Bond film had been interrupted due to an ongoing ordeal between Amazon and Bond’s producer. Rumours have also been circulating about who will take over Craig’s legendary run as the special agent.
Martin hinted that Taz Skylar, star of Cleaner, could be in for a shot. Meanwhile a number of other Hollywood names have been thrown in the pot, although no confirmation yet.
Idris Elba was rumoured for a very long time, but the Luther actor has taken himself out of the race. Theo James, Damson Idris and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are all fan favourites.
Back in 2005, Daniel Craig received a lot of slack for his future career-defining role as 007. Fans were unimpressed and didn’t like that his hair colour was blonde.
