TV chef Gino D’Acampo was previously forced to defend himself after it was reported he made a rather risqué “confession” about “licking his cousin” before Celebrity Juice cameras began rolling
Gino D’Acampo once landed in hot water after making a statement about “licking his cousin”.
Back in 2015, Gino shocked Celebrity Juice’s live audience with a “confession” that they couldn’t believe. According to reports, in unaired scenes the show’s host Keith Lemon asked the TV chef whether he’d ever licked something off a woman before they began recording.
D’Acampo reportedly responded that an incident occurred between him and his cousin: “I was young. She said Nutella tasted better ‘down there’, but it was a trick!”
However, Gino’s rep later spoke to OK! about the controversial joke to set the record straight. They explained: “It’s an outrageous comedy [Celebrity Juice] on which people say all sorts of rubbish talk.”
OK! reported back in 2015: “[While] speaking to OK! Online about his upcoming UK tour, Gino admitted that he has no regrets about making the joke. ‘If people believe that, then they also believe the fact that I come from Sheffield,’ he said. ‘I can’t stop people believing whatever they want’.”
“If there is any idiot out there who believes that, then they’re the same people who think my mother’s name is Sheila and my father’s name is Tony.”
Gino’s resurfaced comment comes soon after recent accusations were made against the ITV star, which he “firmly denies”.
The allegations reportedly span over 14 years and one woman alleged that back in 2011, Gino said he would “like to turn me over and f*** me up the a*** against the kitchen counter”.
Another accuser alleged that Gino once asked a staff member: “When are we all going to get drunk and have sex together?” D’Acampo has spoken out against the claims and denied the accusations of him “acting inappropriately”.
In a statement regarding the claims, Gino said: “I have been told by ITN [producer of ITV News] News that allegations have been made about me acting inappropriately, some dating back over ten years ago.”
“I have never been made aware of these matters previously and the allegations are firmly denied. I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone. This is simply not in my nature. I do not recognise the version of events being put to me.”
After touching upon his career, Gino made a point to say that he is a “father” and a “husband” who has “worked with well over 1500 people on around 80 productions” throughout his career as a TV chef and presenter.
D’Acampo said that he is “proud” of his work and “takes such matters extremely seriously”. He closed his statement by saying that he is “deeply upset” by “the suggestion that he acted in an improper way”.
