BRIT Awards 2025 host and comedian Jack Whitehall has been dating fiancée Roxy Horner for five years, with the pair having welcomed their first child last year
Jack Whitehall is gearing up to host the BRIT Awards once more, with the funnyman set to dazzle audiences tonight at The O2 Arena in London.
Jack’s no stranger to the gig, having been the master of ceremonies from 2018 to 2021, and now he’s making a grand comeback.
In the run-up to this year’s BRITS, the 36 year old quipped: “They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder, and that is absolutely the case with The BRIT Awards – it is my favourite night of the year, and I am delighted to be invited back to host in 2025.”
One person who’ll surely be rooting for Jack is his other half, Roxy Horner. Let’s delve into their five-year love story….
Essex-born Roxy, 33, struts her stuff as a model, signed with Premier Model Management. She kicked off her career at the tender age of 17 and has since graced the pages of British Vogue, not to mention working with big names like Victoria’s Secret, Max Factor, and Pandora.
The lovebirds first crossed paths in 2020 down under in Australia, where Roxy used to reside. Their initial rendezvous was a bit of a mishap though, reports OK!.
Spilling the beans on the Life’s a Beach podcast, Jack recounted how he’d hunted down dining recommendations from the locals, only to take Roxy to a place decked out with taxidermy ducks. Roxy, being a vegan, wasn’t exactly thrilled by the choice of decor. Jack owned up to not knowing about Roxy’s dietary choices before their date, which he then likened to “something out of a sitcom”.
Despite the early snags, Roxy swiftly settled into Jack’s Notting Hill abode when the Coronavirus pandemic hit.
Reflecting on their initial cohabitation phase, Jack shared with the Mirror: “Weirdly that was quite nice because we spent a lot of time together and it accelerates the relationship in a way. Then when lockdown ended, there was a lot of things we realised. We’d never gone to see a film together. We’d never been to a restaurant in England because we met in Australia.”
Roxy, who hails from Australia, has gratefully acknowledged Jack’s immense support whilst settling down in the UK. The year 2021 brought a harrowing experience for the model when she collapsed at the BRIT Awards which were hosted by Jack and subsequently found herself rushed to hospital.
Suffering from exhaustion, intense thirst, nausea, and memory troubles, Roxy was eventually confronted with a diagnosis of type 1 Diabetes.
In a conversation with Marie Claire UK, she disclosed: “I had been speaking to the doctors about how unwell I had been feeling. I remember a specific phone call I made to my doctor before I ended up in hospital. I was in bed for days crying just feeling awful and not knowing why, I just felt like I was going to die. I ended up taking myself to AandE in the end, which is where I was diagnosed.”
The pair’s love story has blossomed beautifully, and in the festive season of December 2024, they welcomed their first little bundle, baby Elsie, into the world amidst the twinkling lights of London. Jack took to social media to express their joy and admiration for his girlfriend.
“Well, this just happened! ” he excitedly shared. “Utterly overwhelming and joyous in ways I couldn’t have even imagined. In awe of my partner @roxyhorner who has been amazing throughout this journey and is going to be the greatest mum ever.”
He added: “So excited to have started a family of my own. Having vowed I’ve never be that guy I am now 100% going to be the parent that shows everyone endless pictures of their kid. I also wore sketchers to hospital, I think I must accept I am a full-blown dad now.”
Despite enjoying their new roles as parents, the couple makes a conscious effort to keep their daughter Elsie out of the public eye.
Come December, Roxy pleasantly surprised their followers by confirming their engagement after much speculation had swirled. She uploaded a reel replete with snips from her spectacular end to 2024, showcasing her sparkling engagement ring and celebrations.
“How could I fit in a whole year of highlights in one video? Here is a snippet of the last 2 magical months of 2024, feeling utterly blessed,” she captioned, prompting a wave of congratulations from her fans towards herself and Jack.
The BRIT Awards will air on ITV1 on Saturday, March 1 at 8.15pm
